Prof. Hagen Schmidt-Bleker
Formitas
Graduate engineer Hagen Schmidt-Bleker recognized the potential of three-dimensional planning, the forerunner of today's Building Information Modeling (BIM), while he was still studying architecture. He was one of the pioneering users of BIM programs and the initiator of various pilot projects that used BIM methodology for the first time in Germany. While still a student, he founded Formitas in 1999, which is now a leading company for the digitalization of the construction industry. Operating from four locations, the interdisciplinary Formitas team has now implemented more than 350 BIM and digitalization projects for companies from various industries. Hagen Schmidt-Bleker has been an honorary professor in the Department of Architecture at Alanus University in Alfter near Bonn since 2020.
