Joachim Schmidt-Mertens

Joachim Schmidt-Mertens has broad experience in the development and management of large-scale projects. He studied civil engineering and envi- ronmental technology in Hamburg-Harburg and began his career at HOCHTIEF in Frankfurt. Here he was responsible for the construction of new office buildings in Frankfurt City. Back in Hamburg, he was responsible for the planning and realization of shopping centers at ECE. In 2011 Joachim Schmidt-Mertens moved to Becken Unternehmensgruppe. As senior project manager, he assumed overarching project management functions as well as advising investors and building owners. Subsequently, he first became an authorised signatory and finally managing director of Becken Development GmbH.
